From Darkness Into Light

“All the forces of darkness cannot stop God’s plan for your life.”

Darkness has a bunch of different meanings but we are going to talk about 1. What the dark is 2. Being in the dark 3. Getting out of the dark

If God is the light, which He is, what is darkness? Darkness is everything that is anti-God or wicked.

John 1:4-5
“In him (God) was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Isaiah 60:1-2
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”

God is light, in him is no darkness and the light out shines the darkness.
The Lord will arise and His glory will shine and be seen.

Being in the dark is not very comforting and can be scary sometimes.
But when you are in the dark sometimes you are afraid of the light because you do not want people to see what you have done while you were in the dark.

It may be hard, but we should get out of the dark and never come back. Yes we stumble into the dark because we are not perfect. But we should strive to stay out as much as we can.

Isaiah 5:20
“How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter.”

Do not call a sin a right and do not call a right a sin. A sin is a sin no matter how big or small that sin is it. Still is a sin and you can’t go around pointing fingers at others sins. EVERYBODY has there own sins they struggle with. So, stop pointing fingers at others and instead look at what you have done wrong and work on your own sins.

God sees all sins the same size. So, for example, if you lie about something and someone else steals something to God both sins are the same size. see James 2:10-11, 1 John 3:15.

Proverbs 4:19
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Those who live in the darkness do not always know they are in the darkness; sometimes they have never even seen the light.

I find Proverbs 4:19 and John 1:8-9 to be very important verses because the wicked don’t always see their wrong doings and we need to show them the light; that is none other then Christ.

Another verse similar to the one above is Psalms 82:5 I am not going to type it out but if you would like to read it you can find it in your bible or search on the Internet.

John 1:8-9
“He (John) was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, lights every man that cometh into the world.”

Once we are in the light we should reflect the light so others may see the light and join the light.

You might be wondering how can I reflect the light? Well, a simple smile to someone who doesn’t seem to be having a good day, talking to someone you know or may not know who needs a friend, helping others, telling others about Christ, and there are many more.

John 12:35
Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth . (Jesus said this)

Sometimes while trying to pick others up they drag you down. So it is important to know and be able to stop from falling into darkness. Even if that means you need to stop trying to pick them up.

Dear Lord,
Deliver us from darkness. Lead us to your light with your love and forgiveness. Have us to see our wrongs and turn from them. Once we are brought into the light have us to shine your light so we may bring others into the light. Once we are out of the dark keep us from straying from the light Lord. Thank you.
amen
